The capital is where most Cambodia trips begin or end, whether that is the riverfront, the Royal Palace or the memorials at Tuol Sleng and Choeung Ek. Time in the city is straightforward; what follows it usually is not the same question.
Hepatitis A, hepatitis B, MMR and typhoid apply here as across the country. Rabies comes up if you expect contact with street animals, and Japanese encephalitis and malaria tablets belong to rural and forested travel rather than to a stay in town. A doctor can advise on whether your route stays in the areas where malaria tablets are unnecessary.
At Singapore Women's Clinic, we provide a range of travel vaccinations, preventive medication and travel health advice for solo travellers and families alike.

If you were vaccinated as a child, or you think you have had the illness before, a blood test can check whether you are still protected before you book a vaccine. We can test immunity to hepatitis A, hepatitis B and measles. Where a result shows you are protected, the dose may not be needed. Results take a few days, so allow for that when you plan your appointments.

If you are unsure which of these apply to you, it is best to consult a doctor, who can advise on which vaccines you need based on your destination, your itinerary and your medical history.

Malaria is not generally reported in Phnom Penh itself. The areas below still apply if you travel on from there.
Malaria is largely isolated to pockets in rural and forested areas, with rare cases elsewhere. There is no meaningful transmission in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, or at the main temple complex at Angkor Wat.
Malaria pills, also called malaria prophylaxis, do not stop you being bitten. They work by killing the parasite in your bloodstream before it has a chance to multiply and make you ill, which is why they are taken daily through the trip and for a period after you leave.
At Singapore Women’s Clinic, we provide malaria pills in addition to travel vaccinations. It is best to consult our doctor 4 to 6 weeks before you fly, so that any tablets can be matched to your route and to medicines you already take. A later appointment is still worth making, as the course itself is usually started only 2 days before you arrive.
Whether you need a certificate depends on the countries you pass through or come from. Before you travel, check your full route against the current list of countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission published by Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.
No certificate is needed if you arrive directly from Singapore, or from any country without yellow fever risk.
It is required from age 1 if you arrive from a country with risk, including airport transits of more than 12 hours there.
Singapore requires a yellow fever certificate if you have recently travelled to a country with yellow fever risk. It follows your route, not your destination, so it can apply even when the country you are visiting has no risk.
At Singapore Women’s Clinic, we also provide travel medical kits, curated by our doctors, to help you manage common travel issues such as diarrhoea, motion sickness, and minor injuries. Each kit is compact and cabin-friendly.
No appointment is required. You may walk in to purchase the kit during clinic hours.
Contact us with your destination and we will confirm which vaccinations are recommended.
What you can expect at every visit, whichever vaccine you need.
Book in the morning and have your vaccination the same day, at any of our clinics.
Get several vaccines in one visit, so you are not making a separate trip for each one.
Receive official documentation at no extra cost, for travel, school or work.
