The vaccine can be administered on its own or in a combination formulation with the Hepatitis B vaccine.

• Localised pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site
• Headache or low-grade fever
• Fatigue or general discomfort

These effects typically resolve within a few days without intervention.

How Many Doses Are Required for the Hepatitis A Vaccine?

The standard vaccination schedule involves two doses:

• 1st dose – Initial protection begins shortly after administration.
• 2nd dose – Given 6 to 12 months after the first to ensure long-term immunity.

In some cases, the vaccine is offered in combination with the Hepatitis B vaccine. When this occurs, the number of doses may vary (typically two or three doses, depending on age and vaccine formulation).

Is Hepatitis A Vaccine Good for Life?
