Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery, or laparoscopic surgery or keyhole surgery as they are also known, is a surgical technique of carrying out an operation without having to make a large incision. Some gynaecological conditions including endometriosisfibroids and ovarian cysts sometimes cannot be found by a physical examination alone. Other tests, X-ray, or ultrasound may still leave some uncertainty. In such cases, laparoscopy may be performed to allow the doctor to look inside the abdomen at these organs and help him determine what is wrong.
